The Office of Research and Health Sciences is not currently accepting applications for the Centenary Plan Program.
Application Procedure
- Develop a proposal of up to five pages that addresses the
following items:
- A description of the ideal
candidate to include the following:
=> Describe in detail the specific areas of expertise required
for this position.
=> Define the focus of your proposal. Indicate whether the
requested position is research faculty or tenure-track. (Please
note: Eligibility as a new hire will be determined by the
Office of Research and Health Sciences, working in conjunction
with the Faculty Research Council and the Office of Human
Resources.)
=> If research track, develop how this hire would establish a
research program independent of existing faculty.
=> Describe any teaching requirements for the position.
=> Develop a plan for mentorship.
=> Describe in detail a plan for the sustainability of this
position.
=> Describe any major instrumentation or new infrastructure
required for the faculty to establish a successful research
program and plans for sustained support for any new major
equipment purchases.
- Include the following supporting documentation in the proposal
packet:
- Position Description
- Include a budget:
- The request is a maximum of $200,000 which typically supports
approximately half of a faculty position ($125,000) and start-up
costs ($75,000) for a three-year period.
- CP funds must be matched by units on a 1:1 basis using funds from
internal and/or external sources.
- Submit the completed proposal packet:
- Through
USCERA with
approval by your chair, dean and/or chancellor before 5:00 pm on
deadline date.
- By selecting "Internal Request" VP for Research" and choose
category type (Centenary Plan) from the USCERA dropdown menu to
ensure proper proposal routing.
- By uploading as ONE file using Adobe PDF or MSWord formats.
