The Office of Research and Health Sciences is not currently accepting applications for the Centenary Plan Program.
Award Administration
- Reporting: At the time of award, detailed reporting
requirements will be outlined.
- Start-up Costs: As previously noted; the CP provides up
to $75,000 in start-up money that must be matched equally. In
unusual cases, the Office of Research and Health Sciences will
consider providing additional start-up support outside of these
programs for faculty hires contingent upon review of curricula vitae
and academic unit proposals.
- Recruiting and Hiring: All recruiting and hiring is to be
conducted in accordance with the USC Faculty Manual, and human
resources and equal opportunity policies. The hiring plans will be
consistent with USC or State rules and regulations.
- FTE’s: The Division of Human Resources has established a
pool containing FTE positions adequate to satisfy the needs of the
CP Program. A Request to Increase FTE Baseline should be submitted
with the proposal or with the hiring documents, identifying the hire
as a CP hire. Once approved, the unit’s FTE baseline will be
adjusted accordingly.
All Columbia campus colleges and schools, including the School of
Medicine, will have accounts established for the Centenary Plan. The
accounts will be established in the office of the dean and will
receive the CP funding from either the Office of Research and Health
Sciences (A490 accounts) or the USC Research Foundation (K490
accounts).
To access funding, units will send copies of the offer and
acceptance letters and the PBP-1 Hiring Document for FTE Positions
or PBP-2 Hiring Document for non - FTE/non-student Positions as
applicable to Jim Little (BYRNES) 901 Sumter Street Suite 511.
Annual funding will be provided through the established accounts on
a case-by-case basis in accordance with the terms of the awarded
proposal and the actual costs of hiring.
Note: CP funding expires on an award three (3) years after the
initial transfer and remaining funding will be returned to the
Office of Research and Health at the end of the third year.
