Eligibility

Units from all campuses are eligible for the CP funds but proposals MUST be submitted by a Dean, Department Chair, and/or Director. Only new (not replacement) hires that increase the total number of faculty are eligible to receive CP support. Eligibility as a new hire will be determined by the Office of Research and Health Sciences, working in conjunction with the Faculty Research Council and the Office of Human Resources.

Faculty and Postdoctoral Students who are currently employed at the University are typically ineligible for support. In an unusual circumstance, a postdoctoral student with an independent research program may be considered for eligibility for the research assistant faculty track with strong justification.
